Study Block 1 – 20 Credits
Through the Technical Studies module you will develop the specialist skills, techniques and methodologies required for expanding your technical ability and creative musical expression.
The skills and vocabulary learned in these lectures are fundamental to music performance and will be applied to practical scenarios throughout the course.
In addition to learning the module’s prescribed content, you will be encouraged to develop your own learning methods for the enhancement of your technical ability, and apply them within a broader musical context.
The techniques studied in this module will prepare you for the lecture content in Advanced Technical Studies, which takes place at Level 5 Study Block 1.
Throughout the module, you will be expected to manage your time effectively, and develop an individual approach to your area of specialism. Lecture content will be supplemented by tutorials and masterclass performances.
