ACM offers Higher Education students the opportunity to secure financial support towards the cost of the first year of their course through the form of a Bursary. ACM is pleased to announce we will be providing two main types of widening participation bursary for the 2023/24 academic year.
Widening Participation Student Bursary
This bursary is for new entrants in September 2023 on one of our undergraduate degree programmes, from a household with an income of £25,000 or less (as evidenced through your SLC application). We have allocated a total bursary fund for this purpose and individual allocation will be subject to the total number of eligible students, with a potential individual bursary of up to a maximum £1,000. The bursary fund is managed by the SLC and payments will be made through three-equal termly payments. It is designed to support general living
Student Equipment Bursary
This bursary is for new entrants in September 2023 on one of our undergraduate degree programmes, from a household with an income of £40,000 or less, and an underrepresented group such as care-leavers, mature students (21 as of 1st September 2023) or disabled students, as evidenced through your SLC and UCAS application, and not in receipt of a Widening Participation Student Bursary. The bursary fund is managed by the SLC and payments are made through a single payment of £250 towards the end of Term 1.
Application process for bursaries
No application is required for bursaries. We will contact eligible students once we have received confirmation from the Student Loans Company as to eligibility. All bursaries will be subject to Terms and Conditions which will be published on our website. Students will only be considered for one bursary. If you believe you are eligible for a bursary and have not received a notification from ACM regarding a potential bursary by 6th November 2023, please contact email@example.com
Terms and Conditions for ACM Bursaries
These terms and conditions apply to all undergraduate bursaries paid to students of ACM on or after 1 September 2023 and within the next calendar 12 months. Application, Selection and Notification Process
UK students do not need to submit applications to receive the above bursaries. EU students will need to submit an application to ACM directly for the income collection. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Applicants will be assessed and selected based on the information provided as part of their application for Student Finance on the Student Loan Portal. Therefore, confirmation of financial support will only be possible once the SLC have completed their assessment.
Successful applicants will only be eligible for one Award. In the event that your Application is eligible for more than one Award, only the bursary providing the higher financial support will be progressed.
If your Application is successful, you will be notified by email. ACM will not notify unsuccessful students. If you are notified by ACM that your Application has been successful and you have not yet accepted your offer of a place on the Course, you must do so within one week of receiving such notification. Failure to do so may result in ACM withdrawing the Award offered to you and awarding it to another applicant.
All Awards are awarded at the sole discretion of ACM and ACM’s decision shall be final. If you feel you are eligible for an award, but do not receive confirmation of an award, contact
email@example.com and provide your details and your Student Support Number and the reason why you feel you will be eligible and ACM will investigate.
Payment of your Award
If you are successful, your award funds will be released to you by ACM and paid through the SLC portal in 2023/24.
Your award will be assessed and paid in termly instalments. Your award may be reduced by any monies that you otherwise owe ACM. ACM will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an application being considered for support or funding being released.
You must notify ACM immediately of any change in your circumstances which may affect your eligibility to receive an Award. If you fail to do so, ACM will be entitled to recover or adjust (as appropriate) any associated Award or benefit.
ACM reserves the right, with reasonable cause, to exclude applicants and withhold Awards for violating any of these Terms and/or any other applicable ACM policies or terms and conditions.
