> Guitar and Bass students Luke Higgins and Sam Odiwe are now band members of highly rated, upcoming act Bryn Christopher. > Promising young songwriter and ex ACM performance degree student Frank Hamilton has been pulling out the stops for a brand new album project produced by Spun Productions mix man Cam Blackwood. Frank's resume has been steadily building over the past few years with achievements including MBF song writing completion final placement, various single releases and extensive UK tours. Lauren Dyson
> ACM vocal student Lauren Dyson has entered the UK album charts as the vocalist for sensational new euro dance artist Basshunter. The dance master’s debut album ‘Now You’re Gone’ released on Hard2Beat Records has been climbing steadily as has the radio play for the single by the same name. Jon Harper
> ACM Drum alumni Jon Harper has been offered a fantastic opportunity working with Brazilian maestros Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS) who released their highly anticipated second album entitled 'Donkey'. Amongst the hectic recording schedule, Jon and the band have a busy summer ahead of them, both in the UK and overseas, headlining slots at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds and a whole summer full of other dates at festivals and venues worldwide. Nick Harrison
> 2008 is looking bright for former ACM student Nick Harrison. The singer-songwriter has been picked by Q Magazine as one of the “10 best new acts of the year” and is also being touted as one to watch by Music Week. Signed to Empire Management, Nick and the band - whose line up includes ACM students Naz Adamson and Toby Couling, have also had a recent string of support slots with some huge acts including Scouting for Girls, Igloo & Harley, One Night Only, with a future support slot touring with The Automatic. To add to the busy live schedule, BBC Radio 1 have also locked on to Nick's music, giving radio play to his latest offering entitled Oi Rude Boy. Avenue
> Island Records latest offering Avenue, featuring ACM vocal student Ross Candy released the Avenue debut single entitled ‘Last Goodbye’ on 1st September. Avenue is the first boyband to be launched by a major record label in quite some time and the buzz has already started. The single has been praised by the industries hottest on the strength of it’s production and songwriting and has been predicted to be ‘a hit’. The boys also have a future album waiting to be unleashed which features the writing efforts of Anders SG from Alphabeat and work from the team behind hit dance label All Around The World. Crown Management, who also looks after artists such as Sugababes, and our very own starlet, Rokhsan Heydari, manages the band. > Creative, a world leader in audio technology, has chosen to use sample tracks from ACM students as pre-installed audio demos on a number of their MP3 players. ACM Students in Sony Ad campaign
> Congratulations to performance students on landing a position in the recent Sony television advertising campaign due to air in a few weeks time. 15 lucky ACM students were chosen for the project which features 32 drummers divided up amongst the various pieces of a drum kit. The ad was shot by top film company Academy Films whose previous works include famous ad campaigns like the Cadburys ‘drumming gorilla’ ad, Skoda’s ‘cake car’ ad and Sony’s ‘bouncing ball’ ad as well as countless others. |
