Important ACM Graduation Information and FAQs

How long do I have to get tickets?
Tickets for the ceremony will be available until 31st October 2017.

Extra guest tickets will be available on a first-come first-served basis from 31st October, book as soon as you can from this date to avoid disappointment. Book tickets through G Live

How do I book my graduation robes?

As part of the graduation ceremony dress code, you are expected to hire and wear traditional graduation robes. To make the day as accessible as possible for everyone, we have made sure that the hire costs are low.

Please visit www.graduationceremony.co.uk to order your robes. Robes must be booked before 31st October to ensure guaranteed availability. Bookings will open on 30th August.

Is there a dress code?

Graduation is an opportunity to dress to impress. Along with your cap and gown, you are expected to wear smart attire. Casual clothing such as jeans, shorts, trainers or flip-flops will not be appropriate to wear to your graduation.

I don’t know what my grades are yet / I’ve got an extension on my hand-in date. Can I still attend?
You can still attend the ACM Graduation Ceremony as a guest but if you have outstanding assessment work then you will not be able to receive a Middlesex University award as you are yet to achieve your award and be conferred at a Middlesex University Finalist Examination Board due to outstanding assessment work.

What happens on the day?
You should arrive at G Live roughly two hours before the start of your ceremony to give you time to collect your gown and have your formal graduation portrait taken. You will then be shown into the auditorium in time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony should take approximately 90 minutes.

Please Note: It’s likely to be very busy on the day, so please arrive early to avoid queues.

Can I reserve seats for my family and I?
Graduates will be seated at the front of the auditorium and will be advised of the seating plan on the day of their graduation. Guest tickets do not have allocated seats and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors to the auditorium will open 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony. If you have any queries relating to seats or disabled access, please ask the G Live team; 01483 369350

What if I haven’t paid all of my fees?
If you have any outstanding debt with ACM and you do not already have an approved payment plan in place, you will not be permitted to attend graduation. If you are unsure about the status of your student finances, please contact the student finance team at studentfinance@acm.ac.uk.

Will we receive our degree certificates on this day?
Award certificates are always distributed by the Awarding Organisation Middlesex University and will be posted to your registered home address within 4 months of your award being formally conferred at a Middlesex University Finalist Assessment Board. At the ACM graduation you will be provided with a prop scroll for photographs in accordance with Middlesex University graduation ceremony guidelines.
