Punch Records Birmingham Scholarship

Brand new for 2024, the Punch Records scholarship is available for Undergraduate applicants to the Birmingham campus.

The scholarship is designed to nurture and empower students from socio-economically diverse backgrounds and black, Asian, and ethnic minority students by fostering their talent and innovation, facilitated through the collaborative mentoring efforts of ACM and Punch Records.

Established in 1997, Punch is the UK’s leading creative development agency for young people from diverse backgrounds. Punch is an ideas-led organisation that champions partnerships between culture, tourism, learning, engagement and music; and one that positions Black arts as an industry that will make meaningful and measurable contributions.

Jono McNeil Vocal Award

BillenTed Production Award

The ACM Billen Ted Scholarship aims to recognize and empower exceptional talent.

Musician’s Company Award

The Musician’s Company of £1,000 recognises outstanding performance qualities in popular music performance. This award is open to all performance students through nomination and decision of the performance faculty committee.

Candidates are nominated and scored on criteria including skill/virtuosity, uniqueness of approach, consistency of development, breadth of skill, outstanding achievement, technology and performance, and forward looking potential. All students studying in their final year of the Music Performance degree at the ACM are eligible for the Scholarship Prize.

Chairman’s Business Accelerator Award

The chairman’s award is designed for budding entrepreneurs who have ideas they’d like to realise with investment opportunities. Every year we host the chairman’s choice awards, which sees students pitch for seed funding for their business, venture, and ideas. This is open to all students, with business students particularly welcome to apply.

Supermassive Scholarship

We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of the ACM – Supermassive Games Scholarship. For ACM students aspiring to enter the games industry as game artists, this will be a fantastic opportunity to receive personal mentoring from Monika Milkova who is a Senior Environment Artist at Supermassive Games.

Monika has over 8 years of industry experience with a focus on 3D art and a passion for 2D concept, digital painting and storytelling. You can view some of her work on ArtStation here: https://www.artstation.com/mmonika

Within each academic term, the scholarship recipients will meet with their assigned mentor and receive personal support in their professional and portfolio development throughout their entire time studying at ACM.

In addition to the above, recipients of this scholarship will receive a partial waiver of fees for the duration of their studies, along with equipment to support their academic work.

• 10-minute maximum video presentation that provides an overview of your background, highlights your areas of interest within game art, and explains why this scholarship will help you achieve your dreams. Include demonstrations of your 3D or 2D artwork and outline your future aspirations in the game industry.
• A portfolio website link or shared drive folder containing a portfolio of your work.
• Reflective statement of 500-750 words that outlines why you are the ideal candidate for the scholarship.
