ACM picked up two awards and received runners-up awards in two further categories at this year’s Independent Higher Education Awards…
As an independent provider of both HE and FE education, ACM are proud to champion our learning by doing ethos throughout our unparalleled and immersive creative industries education. With four nominations, we were honoured to receive awards for ‘Technology for Learning’ and ‘Course Innovation in Design or Delivery’, alongside being runners-up in the categories ‘Student Collaborations’ and ‘Inspiring Alumni’ at 2018’s Independent Higher Education Awards.
“The recognition ACM received at the Independent Higher Education Awards is representative of the tireless work of over 250 colleagues who give their time and effort to ensuring our students receive the highest quality education, industry opportunities and personal development. We’re so proud to offer an unparalleled creative industries education. Even to be nominated was reward enough, but to have won feels particularly amazing!”

Alongside being recognised for our unique brand of industry education, we were thrilled to have Ace present the awards ceremony.
“I was honoured to be asked to be a part of such a prestigious awards event. It was amazing to celebrate the hard work that has led to a lot of innovation throughout the sector. I was especially proud to see my colleagues collect their awards for ACM. In my department Industry Link, we work a lot with our alumni network, ensuring they are supported throughout their careers, so to be runners-up in the ‘Inspiring Alumni’ category was a brilliant moment for me.”

Technology is integrated into every stage of the learning process here at ACM. Having put a lot of time and energy into the use of technology, our Education, IT, and Marketing Teams are extremely proud to have been awarded the ‘Technology for Learning’ award at the Independent Higher Education Awards.
Having been building long-lasting and sustainable careers in the creative industries since 1995, we have always had a strong focus on collaboration, not only in the industry but throughout our education too. With enrichment programmes such as ‘Discovery & Development’, new in-house record label ‘Metropolis Blue’, and community engagement activities embedded into our modules, we were pleased to have been runners-up in the ‘Student Collaborations’ category.
“Collaboration is vital in the creative industries, because of this we ensure that we embed it into our education throughout our students’ courses – ensuring when they graduate they already have a solid network amongst their peers for when they enter the industry. To be recognised in this way is a huge honour to us and we will keep building on this programme in the future.”

The final award of the evening was for ‘Course Innovation in Design or Delivery’. We were awarded this based on our Music Industry Practice Degree which is delivered at both our Guildford and Birmingham campuses. We are continually reviewing and enhancing our programmes to ensure industry relevance and up-to-date content for our students and we welcome the recognition from the Independent Higher Education Awards. Having won two awards at last year’s event, we were delighted to be honoured again and are looking forward to building on our successes to deliver yet more award-winning education in 2019.
