ACM Tutor Ashwin Seegobin (AKA Smash) and Krishane (son of legendary Reggae singer, Barrington Levy) team up for their brand new single, ‘Lockdown’. Described as a Caribbean heavenly influenced R&B infused jam, the single delves into Krishane’s development over the years, speaking about his personal experiences, whilst combining R&B with Dancehall. Now available on all platforms!
The aim for us was to discover the right balance of Caribbean music that could also fit the profile of mainstream music that has the potential to enter the charts.
Krishane
Krishane didn’t come to the studio for a session and leave, Krishane would spend days with me in the studio. We would talk for hours on spirituality, personal experiences, our love of food and how we as creatives could contribute good music to the world. The whole process of “Lockdown” took some time due to the restrictions Covid-19 imposed on us, but it felt like what a producer and artist relationship should be like.
