Where and when will my graduation ceremony be held?

The graduation ceremony will be held at One Park Crescent, Marylebone on Wednesday 31st July 2019. For venue details, see https://oneparkcrescent.london/. There will be two graduation sessions, separated by discipline:
Performance and Songwriting Students will process at 1pm. Students will be welcomed from 11am to be gowned in order to be seated by 12:30pm.

Business and Production Students will process at 4pm. Students will be welcomed from 2pm to be gowned in order to be seated by 3:30pm.

Who can participate in graduation?

Anyone studying at Degree level with ACM who was still on programme with us (ie engaged with their studies) at the end of the summer term is invited to participate in the ceremony. If, for whatever reason, you continue to be engaged with your studies by way of writing-up your assessments and/or awaiting final results/confirmation at the point of graduation, you will still be permitted to participate. If, however, you have restarted your year and are now attending new classes at ACM (ie you are now part of a different cohort of students), you will be invited to join next year’s graduation ceremony, instead.

How does ticketing for the event work?

Unlike many institutions, ACM does not charge for participation in graduation. We provide every graduating student with a ticket of their own, plus up to two tickets for guests, free of charge. You must RSVP using the graduation app (www.acm.ac.uk/graduationbookings) by the deadline of Wednesday 26th June 2019 at 5pm in order to secure your tickets and these are guaranteed. If you’d like to bring more than two guests to graduation, you can request those extra tickets using the app. The availability of extra guest tickets is not guaranteed and successful requests will be confirmed to you via email on Wednesday 10th July 2019. Once any extra tickets have been confirmed as available, you’ll be able to buy them at a cost of £15 and we’ll provide instructions on how to purchase in your availability confirmation email.

How do I book my graduation robes?

As part of the graduation ceremony dress code, you are expected to hire and wear traditional graduation robes. To make the day as accessible as possible for everyone, we have worked with a third party company, Graduation Attire, ensuring that the hire costs are low. Please visit https://www.graduationgownhire.co.uk to order your robes. Robes must be booked before Wednesday 3rd July 2019 to guarantee availability and they also offer official photography services.

Is there a dress code?

Graduation is an opportunity to dress to impress. Along with your cap and gown, you are expected to wear smart attire. Casual clothing such as jeans, shorts, trainers or flip-flops is not appropriate to wear to graduation.

What happens on the day?

You should arrive at One Park Crescent roughly two hours before the start of your ceremony to give you time to collect your gown and have your formal graduation portrait taken. You will then be shown into the auditorium in time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony should take approximately 90 minutes. It’s likely to be very busy, so please arrive as advised to avoid queues.

Can I reserve particular seats for my family and I?

Graduates will be seated at the front of the auditorium and will be advised of the seating plan on the day of their graduation. Guests will be allocated seats. Doors to the auditorium will open 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony. If you have an access requirement, please let us know by way of email to events@acm.ac.uk. You may also direct your enquiries to the One Park Crescent team; 020 7631 8397.
