Students at ACM London pitched on real-world briefs at our first ever Catalyst Songwriting Camp.

Writing for The Vamps, BTS and Louis Tomlinson to name just a few, our students were put into groups of three to create songs from scratch at our London Campus in June.

At ACM, we’re proud to present our students with exclusive real-world opportunities. At our recent Catalyst Songwriting Camp, we paired production students with performance and songwriting students to create tracks to real working briefs. They then presented their demos to a panel of music industry guests.

Current students : to apply for the next Catalyst Songwriting Camp on Thursday 12th July, please mail us at musicsubmission@acm.ac.uk providing a link to your songs / productions, stating whether you’re a songwriter, musician or producer! Submissions close Friday 6th July at 12pm.

ACM students were tasked with writing briefs for artists such as Louis Tomlinson (SYCO), The Vamps (Universal / Virgin), Taya (Atlantic) and K-Pop megastars BTS. The students’ work was then critiqued by industry guests including the likes of Autonomy Music Group, ASCAP, Concord Music Publishing & BNDR.

An initial demo by Linda Quero (ACM Songwriting Student) & Morten Jepsen (ACM Production Student) written at the Catalyst Songwriting Camp:

“Having personally been involved in the setting up of a number of high level writing camps that have produced US number one singles, I was throughly impressed by what I experienced at ACM today. The quality of writing was extremely high with the camp running like clock work.” David Jordan, ASCAP UK Director

“The Catalyst Songwriting Camp was an amazing experience. Being a Producer, it was great to be put into an environment of different singer-songwriters to collaborate with and build a network to potentially work with in the future.” Samuel Towner, ACM Production Student
