ACM is incredibly proud to announce that it is once again expanding its facilities at ACM Guildford, for the September 2017 academic year.

Electric Theatre GuildfordAt ACM we aim to consistently make real-world platforms and opportunities available to our students, so we’re very excited that The Electric Theatre, a 210-seater Theatre and Music Hall that sits as part of our town-centre campus at ACM Guildford, came under the management of ACM in June 2017. ACM students will enjoy access to the Theatre, not only as a learning environment, but also as a venue. The theatre now complements our real-world studio complex, Metropolis Studios, and real-world radio station (complete with DAB broadcast license) eagle3, making ACM an incredibly unique learning environment.

It doesn’t end there – we are very proud to announce that a new studio and live recording space in the Rodboro Building will be opening for this September 2017. The studio represents our continued commitment to providing ACM students with world-class facilities that are, most importantly, available when they need them. Throughout August our team is working to reconfigure the entire middle floor of our Rodboro Building, to turn it into the flagship studio space at ACM Guildford.

Guildford Studio image 1Designed by the best technical minds of Metropolis Studios and ACM combined, the new studio features a large recording area suitable for band, choral and orchestral set-ups, a stone-room for recording with a different kind of reflection and resonance, a control room complete with an SSL Duality console, as well as outboard gear from Universal Audio, JDK and Lexicon. Monitoring is through Dynaudio speakers and audio conversion from Prism. Just like all of our studios, the latest versions of Pro-Tools, Logic, and Ableton will be available, as well as plugins from Native Instruments, Melodyne, Fab Filter and many others. Lines-of-sight have also been a key focus, meaning that this studio enables great communication between producer and artist.

All ACM Guildford students will be able to access the space as part of the room resource available to book via their student portal, myACM, and many students will also have lessons within the new studio complex each week.  We can’t wait to show everyone!

The ACM Guildford campus now consists of:

The Rodboro Building

The Artist Development Centre

The Billings

The Electric Theatre

Global House

The SU – Riverside Cafe

Our performance, rehearsal, and recording spaces are available to our students late into the evenings and on weekends, ready for when creativity strikes, all as part of their studies.

We pride ourselves on giving our students access to the very best facilities and equipment. The additions of our new studio this September, The Electric Theatre in June, and The Billings in 2016, mean that the ACM Guildford campus is a truly unparalleled centre for music education.
