ACM’s Jack Le Breton Attends The BAFTA Games Awards

ACM Production Route Degree Alumnus Jack Le Breton was a guest with Two Point Studios, who were nominated for Best British Game for ‘Two Point Hospital’, a game Jack composed music for. Find out what he had to say about the event…

It was a completely surreal night being surrounded by the great and the good of the gaming industry which included Santa Monica Studios (God of War. Winner of 5 BAFTAs), Rockstar Games (Red Dead Redemption 2) and Nintendo. Several voice actors were also present, Melissanthi Mahut (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey) & winner Jeremy Davies (God of War)

I bumped into composer Lena Raine  (and I really did bump into her) who was nominated for her music for Celeste. The highlight of the evening for me was meeting with and having a very long and encouraging conversation with Jessica Curry, composer of one of my very favourite soundtracks for ‘Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture’, a piece of which opened the proceedings and was performed by a live choir. It was so beautiful that I shed a tear or two.

‘Two Point Hospital’ did not win Best British Game (Forza 4 Horizon won). That didn’t diminish what an honour it was to be nominated. Since composing for Two Point Hospital (which entered the Steam charts at no.1 the week it was released), I’ve composed the entire soundtrack for Hartacon Tactics & I am just about to start work on another game, all hush-hush at the moment.
