Andy Wardle

Andy has been involved as an audio engineer in the live sound industry for over 30 years, working in various capacities, including monitors, front of house, systems tech, acoustics, festival noise management, and R&D. He has been active in audio education for more than 20 years, developing and delivering courses from STEM to BSc levels, encouraging and inspiring new generations of engineers to embrace technological advances and build their careers in live sound and acoustics.

Academically, he is an avid lifelong learner, accruing various qualifications and certifications including an MSc in applied Acoustics, is an Associate member of the Institute of Acoustics and has contributed as a Member to to AES technical Standards, conferences and papers.

Dave Tyler

Dave Tyler brings a wealth of experience to ACM, encompassing roles as a freelance bass player, touring artist, business director, and CLOCK Sector Expert and Peer Reviewer. Dave specialisation lies in the Masters program and the business pathway for undergraduates. With 15 years of international touring experience and tour management responsibilities, Dave has a deep understanding of the music industry. Dave has also showcased his talents as a songwriter, designer, and business director with his band, Bare Jams. As a CLOCK Peer Reviewer and creative industries bootcamp leader, Dave is committed to fostering growth and innovation in the industry. At ACM, Dave emphasises the importance of collaborative, networking-focused learning. Dave’s top tips for students include building a strong network, utilising ACM’s facilities, and leveraging the diverse expertise of faculty members to maximise learning opportunities.

Amie Chatterley

Amie Chatterley brings a diverse background, including roles as a bassist, event manager, and business owner. As the Business Pathway Leader & Foundation Programme Leader at ACM, Amie guides students in music business and event management. Amie’s credits include performing with bands and directing events like Power Metal Quest Festival. With a BA(Hons) in Performance Industries and a DipHE in Mental Health Nursing, Amie offers depth to her expertise. Amie values ACM’s focus on real-life projects, stating, “We’ve created a creative industry hub where students work on real projects.” Amie’s top tips for students stress networking, pushing boundaries, and mastering time management.

Matt Russell

Matthew Russell brings a wealth of experience from their dynamic career spanning the heart of the music industry. From studying acoustics in Birmingham and Manchester to working with iconic artists like Coldplay and Blur at Depot Studios in London, Matthew’s journey has been illustrious. As the founder of Cato Music, he revolutionised the touring landscape and pioneered the world’s first roadie school in collaboration with ACM. Now leading ACM’s Live Production Degree programme, Matthew specialises in live sound engineering, event management, and tour management, among other areas. Matthew’s credits include roles at Universal Music, NASA, and hosting top-ranked podcasts. Matthew finds joy in witnessing students’ growth from sixth form to touring professionals, making ACM a rewarding environment. Matthew’s top tips for students stress maintaining peace of mind, commitment to goals, and effective time management.
