Course overview
For young performers ready to develop their skills, collaborate and perform.
ACM UNLOCKED: Music Performance is a 10-week evening course for young musicians aged 12–17.
This is for musicians who are ready to take the next step with their instrument and experience what it’s really like to play as part of a band.
Each week, you’ll work alongside other young musicians in ACM’s professional facilities, supported by experienced tutors who work within today’s music industry.
You’ll develop essential skills on your instrument while learning how to rehearse effectively, communicate with other musicians and bring songs together as a band.
What You’ll Develop
Across the 10 weeks, you’ll work on:
– Instrumental development
– Rehearsal and ensemble skills
– Playing confidently with other musicians
– Learning and preparing repertoire
– Stagecraft and live performance
– Musical communication and collaboration
– Building confidence as a performer
This course acts as a progression route into ACM’s full-time performance-based programmes:
Advanced Development: Full-time courses allow students to go further in their technical, creative and artistic development, with more intensive training, broader performance opportunities and deeper exploration of style and specialism.
Industry Connections: Students benefit from ACM’s connections with working musicians, industry professionals and live performance networks, opening up opportunities for collaboration, insight and progression.
Portfolio and Experience Building: Full-time study gives students the chance to build a strong performance profile through live work, collaborative projects and recorded outputs, helping them prepare for further study or a career in music.
