Now in its 14th year, the Young Drummer of Year 2016 competition begins again on October 1st until November 15th. Sponsored by the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Tama drums and Zildjian cymbals.
Entrants must be 16 and under on February 7th 2016 and be a UK resident to enter (proof will be required).
Set up to showcase the amazing young drumming talent in the UK, Young Drummer of the Year has become a major career platform for many of todays’ young working drummers including Dexter Hercules (Olly Murs), Jen Ledger (Skillet), Pauli (Damon Albarn), AKA George (solo artist), Brad Webb (Jamie Cullum), Stephen Asamoah-Duah (The Compozers), Tristan Evans (The Vamps) and many more.
How to enter Young Drummer of the Year 2016
You can enter one of three ways, send a 2-minute solo drum performance with a completed entry form which can be downloaded from www.youngdrummeroftheyear.co.uk.
1: A DVD by post to Young drummer of the year PO BOX 436, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 6WX
2: Post your 2 minute performance on Facebook or youtube and write the link on an entry form and send to Young drummer of the year PO BOX 436, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 6WX. Please use the hash tag #youngdrummeroftheyear16 on Youtube and Facebook.
3: Enter at the live booth at this years London drum show.
