About Dave Kushner
Although more recently known for his solid rhythm guitar in the successful US hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, Dave Kushner’s music industry experience spans many decades.
He entered the rock world as the guitarist for the band Wasted Youth, before moving on to join Electric Love Hogs whose other members included ‘Goldfinger’s John Feldman (vocals, guitar) and Kelly LeMieux (bass), Orgy’s Bobby Hewitt (then Bobby Fernandez, drums) and guitarist Donni Campion. They released just one album on the London Records label, and toured with L.A. Guns in the U.S. and Ugly Kid Joe in the UK.
After a meeting with producer Mark Dodson, Dave was asked to join Infectious Grooves, whose band consisted of Cyco Miko Muir (vocals) and Robert Trujillo (bass) of Suicidal Tendencies, after which he had spells in the bands Danzig, Zitch, Reloaded, Alien Crime Syndicate and as musical director for Dave Navarro’s touring band for the ‘Trust No One’ record.
2002 saw Dave join ‘The Project’ – formed with Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum who Dave would eventually form Velvet Revolver with vocalist Scott Weiland.
