Pat is a highly technical bass player with a plethora of live experience under his belt. Having studied at Basstech in London for three years – where he was awarded ‘Best Overall Student’ – he went on to play with the critically acclaimed bands Headnoise, The Disoriented and Wanton & Blithe. He has since toured all over the UK, Europe and South East Asia with various function bands, including regular sessions for Guitar Techniques magazine and drum and bass producer Ray Keith, and a performance at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. More recently, he has been touring with Hugh Cornwell (frontman of The Stranglers) and English ‘punk poet’, Dr. John Cooper Clarke, even performing a BBC 6 Music live session with them hosted by presenter Mark Radcliffe. Pat has been teaching at ACM since 2001, and has given guest lectures at Bass Day UK, Seoul Jazz Academy in South Korea, and three of Japan’s foremost contemporary music colleges in Tokyo and Niigata. He has also appeared on Channel 4, BBC Radio 1 and the Musicians’ Channel, as well as writing a series of articles for Bassist magazine.
