Kaya is a singer, songwriter, festival director, harmony fanatic, promoter, singing teacher and self-confessed vocal geek with an interest in quirky instruments and new experiences. Originally from Norway, Kaya made England her home in 1999 and has become an established artist with a track record of performances from the Royal Variety Show and the BBC Songwriting Showcase, to Liverpool Sound City and BBC TV’s Last Choir Standing. She has toured the UK and abroad both as a solo artist and with her award-winning band, Science of the Lamps. Kaya has performed with artists such as Seal, Bon Jovi and Ringo Starr, and has supported Brett Anderson (Suede), Noah and the Whale, The Wombats, Lamb, The Farm and Marina and The Diamonds, to mention just a few. Her songs have been included in three plays, two short films and a full-length feature film for which she won a silver award for ‘Best Original Soundtrack’ at the International Independent Film Awards in Los Angeles. Over the past ten years she has firmly established herself as a highly sought after vocal coach specialising in artist development, voice science, music direction, choir/vocal group work, songwriting support and performance anxiety.
