Having spent almost a decade in the agency business Matt Hanner set up Runway in the spring of 2020 against a backdrop of a global pandemic, a summer of no festivals and huge challenges to the entire live sector. Undeterred, Matt brought a roster of 14 artists from his previous role as an agent at ATC Live and set about building a company focussed on providing artists with a home that gives them a chance to continue developing and connecting with their fans, whether they’ve been touring for 5 months or 25 years.
Matt studied Music & Entertainment Industry Management at the University Of Hertfordshire, completing 2 years before departing for a role at Coda Agency (which became Paradigm in 2018) as an assistant. Since then he has booked shows from Alexandra Palace to the Hug & Pint, Glastonbury to Haldern Pop, working with independent and major-label artists alike.
Runway is committed to racial and gender equality and has pledged to maintain and improve the diversity of the roster alongside initiatives such as Keychange, of which Runway is a member.
