The Skunk Anansie Scholarship rewards one performance student at ACM London, ACM Guildford or ACM Birmingham with support for up to 3 years of study, worth £27,000.

The Skunk Anansie Scholarship rewards excellence in Performance on Degree programmes at ACM London, ACM Guildford or ACM Birmingham, paying for a student’s entire tuition fees for the duration of their study.

The award winning British rock band have been working for more than 20 years and are therefore perfect role models for ACM’s students.  In between studio recording and touring with the band, guitarist Ace works at ACM as its Head of Creative Industry Development and drummer, Mark Richardson, is a Wellbeing Coach for the academy’s students.

We are so excited to be able to offer such a life changing opportunity in partnership with ACM. Starting out in music can be tough financially, so being able to take away that burden for someone who is at the very beginning of their journey is incredibly rewarding. We love the fully immersive experience that ACM offers its students and are so excited to see the shortlist.

Skunk Anansie vocalist, Skin

It’s fantastic to work with Skunk Anansie, who are truly inspiring role models for our study body. I know the band members to be incredibly hard working people and living proof of the ability to enjoy a life-long, sustainable career doing something that you love.  We look forward to receiving scholarship entries and to awarding the scholarship to the lucky recipient.

Executive Chairman of ACM, Kainne Clements

How To Apply for The Skunk Anansie Scholarship:

1. Follow in the footsteps of one of the world’s most successful rock bands and apply to our Skunk Anansie Scholarship programme. To do so, you must be on a Music Performance course at either ACM London or ACM Birmingham (this means locked in firm on UCAS and your ACM contract sent back!). If you’re not already a student, fear not, simply follow the instructions on our Apply page to get your ACM journey started.. Applicants to the relevant ‘Level 0’ / Foundation Year precursors at ACM Guildford will also be accepted.

2. Send an email to with the subject line “Skunk Anansie Scholarship Submission from Your Name”. Make sure the email contains a link to a video that captures your very best abilities as a performer.

Video Tips:

  • Be sure to introduce yourself – we want to know who you are!

  • Explain to us all about your history as a performer and what your ambitions are.

  • Tell us what winning the Scholarship would mean to you.

  • Keep in mind we are only able to consider one track per applicant so chose a track that shows off your best technical skills. Please do not send us collaborative work, we want to see what you can do. However, we will accept other performers participating on your track, such as in the form of a backing band.

  • Don’t worry about the quality of your video production (the purpose of this video is so we can see your musical skills, not filmmaking talents). Nevertheless, we do welcome videos that demonstrate the best of all your creative skills, so don’t hold back. Entries must be received by the closing date, which is estimated to be at the end of June 2021. The exact date will be confirmed nearer the time.

3. After your email submission, entries will be shortlisted by a panel of ACM judges, before being reviewed by members of Skunk Anansie, when the winner be announced.

From ACM and Skunk Anansie, we wish you the very best of luck.
