Student Engagement Officer – ACM Guildford

Reports to: Student Engagement Manager

PURPOSE

The Student Engagement Officer primary duties will be to assist in the coordination of ACM’s approach to student retention and satisfaction, working with ACM’s Student Engagement Manager to effectively monitor student engagement across all sites. The Student Engagement Officer will work closely with the Programme Administrators, Student Services and Education Guidance teams at each site to ensure that information in relation to student engagement, retention and satisfaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to the Student Engagement Manager, this will include:
    • Preparing and sending written communication to students, and parents where necessary.
    • Preparing paperwork in relation to Individual Learner Agreements.
    • Preparing paperwork in relation to changes of circumstance.
    • Actively meeting with, calling and emailing students to ensure queries and issues are captured and resolved.
  • Capture student feedback and information.
  • Monitor student attendance.
  • Implement early intervention strategies as outlined by the Student Engagement Manager.
  • Communicate with students on all HE programmes and provide follow-up support where necessary.
  • Communicate with students and parents on all FE programmes and provide follow-up support where necessary.

An undergraduate qualification or relevant professional experience.X

Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage administrative processes and to undertake specific tasks to tight deadlines.X 
Understanding and awareness of the needs of a diverse student body.X 
Previous experience within education administration. X
Ability to work effectively in a team. X

This job purpose reflects the core activities of the post. As the Department and the post-holder develop, there will inevitable be some changes to the duties for which the post is responsible, and possible to the emphasis of the post itself. ACM expects that the post-holder will recognise this and will adopt a flexible approach to work. This could include undertaking relevant training where necessary. Should significant changed to the job purpose become necessary, the post-holder will be consulted and the changes reflected in a revised job purpose.
