As technology evolves, and business models that monetise access to music (as opposed to ownership) emerge, it is more important than ever for songwriters to understand the commercial context in which they work. In this module we seek to answer two questions in depth: “What do you need to know about intellectual property in order not to be taken advantage of as a songwriter?” and “What marketing techniques will help you gain reward from your creativity and future-proof your career in the music business”?
