In 2015, ACM ran a Schools Referral scheme for its September intake and were inundated with talented candidates.

As part of the scheme, ACM pledged to give £400 worth of free musical equipment to the school of each successful referral. One such success was Jamie Mitchell, whose school The Ashcombe School purchased a much needed Yamaha Powered Mixer as well as Fender and Laney bass & guitar combo amps.

“We found the scheme very helpful, as it has enabled us to buy new equipment including a much needed Powered Mixer and guitar / bass combo amps. The mixer has since been used for our production, in assemblies and amps used frequently by bands in rehearsals and performances. We chose to focus the funds on equipment that would be used by sixth form bands and guitarists. As Jamie would have used this equipment, it was nice for him to have this legacy.”
