As a final ‘Horah’ before the end of the 2011 term, ACM invited professional bass guitarist Rufus Philpott to host a bass masterclass for ACM students.

Philpott, who has a performance and recording portfolio that includes the likes of Allan Holdsworth, Tony MacAlpne, Scott Henderson, Jeff Golub, Greg Howe and Mitch Forman was only too happy to share his experiences and knowledge with ACM students.

“Rufus’ bass master class was exactly what it said on the tin- an in-depth analysis of the role of the modern electric bass player, which included a detailed breakdown of functional supportive bass playing all the way up to high-octane soloing concepts.  One of the best master classes I have seen.”
Joe Hubbard Senior Lecturer at ACM

We’d like to thank Rufus for taking the time to visit ACM and look forward to welcoming him back to ACM in the near future. For more information on Rufus Philpott visit his website.
