On Saturday 14th June, ACM students were lucky enough to meet and hear from Mercury prize winning British producer and DJ, Roni Size.

This EXCLUSIVE event continued the ongoing ACM and Metropolis Partnership – an exciting new chapter in ACM’s history.

About Roni Size

Roni Size first came to prominence with the drum and bass collective Reprazent, whose lineup included DJ Krust, Onallee (vocals), Dynamite MC and rapper Bahamadia (a former protégé of Gang Starr).

In 1997 the band won the Mercury Prize for their album New Forms thanks in part to Size’s ability to meld propulsive jungle beats with live drums and double bass.

Reprazent’s follow-up album in 2000 called In the Mode, saw Size collaborate and include guest vocalists from Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine and Method Man of Wu-Tang Clan.

Solo projects Touching Down (2002) and Return to V (2005) saw vocal collaborations with artists such as Beverly Knight, Jocelyn Brown, Vikter Duplaix and Rodney P before Size took Reprazent back on the road in 2008. Festival appearances includes Bestival, Glastonbury, Lovebox, EXIT and Rock Herk, Good Vibrations Festival, a 2009 headline slot at the 2009 Ultra Music Festival in Miami and a final act of the festival at Coachella.

Roni Size’s new album is due for release later in 2014.
