What is the difference between virtuosity and musicianship, and are both necessary attributes of a contemporary songwriter? Is it possible to apply the highest standards of musicianship even with limited “technique”? What is the role of musicianship within the creative life of a songwriter, and what do musicians mean when they say “your face fits”? In this module we encourage students to explore their musicality and musicianship in depth as a way of enhancing creativity and musical expression.
