The Music Gateway Production Scholarship

The Music Gateway Production Scholarship rewards one Audio Production student at ACM London, ACM Guildford or ACM Birmingham with support for up to 3 years of study, worth £27,000.

The scholarship rewards technical excellence and innovation in Audio Production for applicants to Degree programmes at ACM London, ACM Guildford or ACM Birmingham, paying for a student’s entire tuition fees for the duration of their study.

Music Gateway and ACM, in this respect, make for the perfect partnership, sharing a passion for nurturing creative minds and helping people succeed in their desired careers.

Whether they make the music, manage the music, buy the music or sell the music, the Music Gateway platform empowers its users to store all of their music, media and projects in one space whilst connecting with like-minded people and accessing high level opportunities. The platform is in use by ACM’s entire student body, which represents all corners of the industry that they one day want to work in.

ACM has also been an invaluable channel of employment for Music Gateway, with 6 staff members being ACM graduates. Regular work experience is also offered to ACM students who are enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn about the wider industry.

“We are very pleased to be joining forces with ACM to bring this scholarship to life. We absolutely love everything ACM has to offer its students and we cannot wait to provide this opportunity for the right student willing to prove themselves in this very challenging industry. It is with this that we hope to empower the next generation of creatives and kickstart an eager student’s career with such amazing financial support.” Jon Skinner, CEO & Founder of Music Gateway

Executive Chairman of ACM, Kainne Clements, said “We’re privileged to work with Music Gateway on this enabling opportunity for our audio production students, especially since we believe that our blend of industry education should be accessible to everybody who is committed to a career in music. We’re all very much looking forward to reviewing the scholarship entries and to awarding the scholarship to the lucky recipient this September.”

How to apply for The Music Gateway Production Scholarship:

1. If you have not done so already, apply to a relevant programme of study at either ACM Guildford, ACM London or ACM Birmingham.  You may choose from the BA (Hons) Music Industry Practice (Production Pathway) programme at ACM Guildford, the BA (Hons) Creative Music Production programme at ACM London and ACM Birmingham.  Applicants to the relevant ‘Level 0’ / Foundation Year precursors at ACM Guildford will also be accepted. Instructions can be found on our Apply page.

2. Complete our Audition process.  Successful candidates will be issued with an offer of study.  Return your offer of study and reply as FIRM via UCAS.

3. Send a an email to with the subject Music Gateway Production Scholarship Submission from < INSERT NAME >.  The email should contain a link to a video in which you present your technical capabilities and innovation as a producer through the showcasing of one of more tracks (or a mix, if you prefer) that are wholly produced by you.  Be sure to introduce yourself in the video.  Before showcasing your work, tell us who you are, what your history is and what your ambitions are for the future.  Tell us what winning the Scholarship would mean to you.  The video should have a maximum length of 6 minutes. For the purpose of this Scholarship, we are able to accept videos that contain one track or a portfolio / mix of multiple tracks, as you think best to show us your technical capabilities and innovation as a Producer.  No collaboratively produced work will be accepted, but it is acceptable to submit work including performers other than the applicant.  Please note, as this is an audio production scholarship, it is the quality of the audio production that will be judged, not the video production. That said, ACM encourages students to submit videos that demonstrate the best of all of their creative capabilities. Entries must be received by the end of Friday 28th June 2019.

4. Entries will be shortlisted initially by a panel of ACM judges, before being reviewed by the members of Music Gateway, with the winner thereafter announced.

ACM and Music Gateway would like to wish all of this year’s applicants the very best of luck!
