ACM would like to formally congratulate current ACM Artist Development student Ebony Day on winning the accolade of MTV Unsigned Artist for 2013.
Managed by ACM Music Business Degree student Lucy Tallant, Ebony fought off stiff competition from a host of other hopefuls to win the viewer-led search for the very best in new music.
Now with well over 150,000 subscribers Ebony has not only performed to live audiences in Nashville, Sydney and London, but has accumulated in excess of 19 million YouTube video views as well as continuing to further herself by studying at ACM, The Academy of Contemporary Music. Now voted MTV’s Unsigned Artist for 2013, Ebony is sure to continue her recent success thanks to her determination and hard work.
“If you don’t dream big what’s the use of dreaming. If you don’t have faith there’s nothing worth believing.”

About MTV Unsigned Artist
MTV’S annual viewer-led search for the very best in new music returned for it’s sixth year and has helped to identify international stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber & Ke$ha, as well as the cream of UK talent including Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32 and Jessie J. MTV’s panel of music experts scour the globe to find the most exciting upcoming talent, for the trusty MTV viewer to vote and crown one lucky act the supreme Brand New champion.
Speaking in a recent interview with GetSurrey’s Andre Langlois, Ebony explained that she is continuing to write her own music in preparation for a forthcoming EP in the New Year. Ebony also expressed a desire to maintain her acoustic style and has set to work putting a band together.
ACM would like to congratulate Ebony and Lucy for all their hard work in securing this prestigious new music award and wish them both well for the future.
