Study Block 1 – 20 Credits

This module aims to present the concepts and principles associated with the techniques and methods used by professional musicians to create effective and convincing live performances. It will explain the roles and responsibilities of the professional performer and call for students to lead and interpret adventurous stage performances, and make sound musical judgments in the presentation of specific advanced contemporary musical genres and styles. Techniques of performance preparation will be explored in depth, and learners will be expected to apply improvisation and engage with musical direction activities as required.

Throughout the module, you will be expected to manage your time effectively, and develop an individual approach to your area of specialism. Lecture content will be supplemented by tutorials and masterclass performances.
