The concept of Lowde Fest is really simple…to provide a fantastic family day out with amazing Live Music, Wonderful Beer, and Great Food and ACM is proud to continue supporting 2013’s event on 22nd June 2013.

Tickets for this years festival are now available to buy online with students (over 18’s) receiving
an extra £5 discounts on the full ticket price.

Lowde Fest was established in 2011 as a fundraising event in support of The Lowde Music Trust, which seeks to support the development of young creatives and musicians helping to link academia and industry.

As well as some confirmed local bands, ACM is proud to have recommended a number of ACM performers to appear on Lowde Fest stage and the newest addition to Lowde Fest; the NEW Unplugged stage. These include:

2011 saw the birth of ‘Mellor,’ the Reading four-piece quickly bringing their dynamic mix of anthem-worthy Pop Smack and nostalgic jive appeal to their ever growing fan base. Catching the eye of ‘BBC Introducing’ after just one gig, Mellor spent their first year sharing stages with the likes of The Kooks, Pete Doherty and KT Tunstall.

Clocking up followers with their unrelenting assault on towns across the UK, Mellor released their debut single “Catch Me Girl” to 5 Star online reviews in June 2012 – now they can’t wait to make 2013 a year to remember.

Bare Jams
Bare Jams is Ollie Coombes (lead vocal/Guitar) and Sam James (vocal/Kajon/Percussion) Dave Tyler (Bass Guitar).

This is a really exciting Acoustic Trio, playing Funky tunes, with catchy lyrics and upbeat rhythms, displaying an element of Pop/R&B/Indie fused together with the solid Raw Acoustic Vibe that is Bare Jams.

Since forming in the Spring of 2012, the seven piece contemporary swing family Lunatrix have been writing and gigging, bringing their modern take on Swing music to the people of the UK.

Inspired by the sounds of European Gypsy Swing along with the emergence of electro swing, Lunatrix take the acoustic elements of the past and combine them with live drums and electric guitars into a fusion of past and contemporary.

With influences ranging from Reggae and Jazz through to Drum n Bass and Techno, each member brings their own unique flavour and talent to the mix. Combining continental brass, blistering guitars and powerful vocals, the Lunatrix sound is crafted to make people dance, lose their inhibitions and inspire through music.

Martha Paton
At just 21 this incredible singer/songwriter from Hampshire is beginning to attract some serious attention. Her quirky style and upbeat folky tunes are delivered by a powerful but hauntingly beautiful voice. Martha will be playing with her new band, and also gracing the Lowde Fest Unplugged stage. Don’t miss out on this rare, and captivating talent.

Aimee Gould
Aimee Gould is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Hampshire who hails a concoction of Lucy Rose meets Laura Marling. With her honest lyrics and heart clutching melodies she is not for the faint hearted but the rewards come in volume.

Archie Smith
Archie Smith is a 20 year old singer/songwriter from Bath. Performing as a soloist for just one year, Archie has already attracted the significant attention of his local BBC station. He has played a wide variety of venues from The Colston Hall and The O2 Academy in Bristol to The O2 Academy Oxford and Moles in Bath and is building a healthy following. Marie Lennon – BBC Introducing described Archie as ‘A genuine talent for making songs to fall in love with. Taking the best elements of great pop music and an inherently creative and organic collection of sounds Archie is able to make a soaring chorus interesting and a playful melody something to be respected and celebrated.’

Ben Longman
Ben Longman makes songs, plays instruments and writes about himself in the third person. After starting on the cello aged 7, he took up the guitar three years later and has been playing around the London toilet circuit under various guises since the age of 16. Inspired by the likes of Glen Hansard, Tom Waits, Josh Ritter, Bert Jansch, Charlie Christian and Martin Taylor, his jazz-tinged, lyrical bluesy-folk comes highly recommended.

Jordan Lisle and Louise Smith
Jordan Lisle and Louise Smith are two talented singer/songwriters from southern England showcasing their vocal and musical ability through a mixture of R’n’B and soul originals and covers.

Both Jordan and Louise have been working on solo projects and their online presence recently, while gigging around the south of England.

With their similar musical styles and powerful vocals, these two talents have come together to form a duo filled with harmonies, catchy melodies and soulful sounds. On their own, they are ones to watch but as a pair, they are one act that cannot be missed.

Penny Nicholls
Penny is a soulful pop artist from Manchester, now based in Guildford. This young and exciting aritst is earning a reputation as one of the most popular original live acts in the area.
Lowde Fest is excited to present this aspiring songwriter to the unplugged stage.
