Since their support of the Wanted’s debut UK tour, Lawson have been propelled into the music spotlight. Now after two hit singles, including a number four UK hit single with ‘When She was Mine’, and the much anticipated debut album ‘Chapman Square’, it’s now Lawson’s turn to take their bow.

Lawson’s rise is especially prevalent as band members Joel Peat and Ryan Fletcher both studied and completed the Higher Diploma Performance course at ACM – Joel was also the proud recipient of the ACM’s Guitarist of the Year Award in 2009.

“I loved coming back to ACM, I have so many awesome memories from when I studied here. I enjoyed being surrounded by so many like minded people studying the same thing; ACM taught me so much about the industry”

During their visit to ACM, the whole band toured the facilities, met with students and fans alike before taking part in a question and answer session with ACM students. Headed by ACM’s Mike Dunn; Joel, Ryan, Adam and Andy chatted candidly about their experiences of the music industry, their creative control and songwriting methods and their use of social media platforms to build and develop their fan base.

“We were thrilled that Lawson spent time with us at ACM. It was inspirational for our students to hear how they reached their success and to see how they gel as a band. It was great that they took time out from their busy schedule to visit us and it will be exciting to watch their future progress.”
Julia Leggett ACM Chief Executive Officer

Following the in-depth question and answer session the band members Joel and Ryan met with students to continue talking about their time at ACM, while Andy and Adam chatted about the their ongoing journey through the music industry.
