About the role:

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day planning and management of the creative content through to execution across all social media platforms. You will have a proven track record of delivering engaging, socially optimised campaigns from strategic ideation through to final delivery. With the ability to combine customer and data insight, with creativity and storytelling. The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing social platforms and online communities across multiple channels, ideally in an arts or higher education context. You’ll have excellent copywriting skills, experience of supporting creative digital marketing campaigns using social media and briefing and working with film-makers/editors to produce high-quality video/audio content.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop social media strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness and customer engagement
  • You will work closely with our education team to bring our brand story to life to attract students to our institution
  • Manage the Social Media Executive on the daily scheduling and posting of social content across all platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Ensure content is tailored to each platform based on their purpose, audience and best practices
  • Working closely with other members of the marketing team, external agencies and across other departments to ensure content is consistent with other campaign activity
  • Ensure customer insight and competitor activity drive content
  • Track performance and make recommendations for optimising content and activity, delivering key improvements where necessary
  • Organise, brief and direct video content opportunities cross-campus, utilising our in-house videographer
  • Manage all UGC across social platforms to ensure it’s utilised across owned channels
  • Attend scheduled internal meetings to identify opportunities and support internal marketing opportunities
  • Support with the execution of any paid media activity

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of using, running and managing social media platforms and planning tools
  • Extensive Knowledge of Social Media platforms, both present and future trends
  • Flair, creativity and the ability to write in our brand tone of voice
  • A strong creative eye with a solid understanding of social media best practice and content
  • Knowledge of social platforms in the context of strategy, maximising engagement and planning
  • The successful candidate will be a confident, articulate and highly motivated person with a huge desire to learn

Desirable

  • An understanding of compliance with UK HE regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Google workspace
  • Experience of using Canva to manage day-to-day design outputs
