PURPOSE

ACM is looking for two individuals to fulfil the role of Quality Officer. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Governance these roles will provide the main administrative support to ACM’s quality and governance functions, including maintaining and clerking the schedule of meetings and reviews, managing ACM’s policies, and facilitating ACM’s external quality reporting. The roles will involve using and enhancing systems-based solutions to support this work, with an existing in-house system ripe for further development. Our Quality Officers will provide a range of advice to internal and external stakeholders on matters of academic quality and regulations. They will also provide the primary support to the student representatives who are an integral part of our quality process. The Quality Officers will be part of a small team in ACM supporting quality, student engagement and feedback, collaborative partnerships, and new policy projects, therefore this position provides opportunities to gain a wide range of experiences to support future careers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and administer quality assurance systems, reports, performance indicators and the annual quality cycle.
  • Schedule, coordinate and clerk the annual cycle of governance activities as laid out in ACM academic regulations and provide administrative support to the Quality, Governance and Policy Team.
  • Manage the course representative system and provide advice and guidance to student representatives in preparation for their roles across the ACM Governance process.
  • Manage the ACM survey plan and coordinate all cross-institutional student surveys, including data collection and data analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain and manage the schedule of academic policy review in liaison with policy leads and committees including updating the web-based compendium of student
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and standard reports for internal and external bodies including collaborative partners, the Office for Students and others
  • Communicate with students, staff and other internal stakeholders the activity of the ACM governance committees.
  • Support key projects within the Quality, Governance and Policy Team
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery, processes and practices.
  • Assist other departments within across ACM during peak times.

An undergraduate qualification or relevant professional experience, with a high level of literacy.X

This job purpose reflects the core activities of the post. As the Department and the post-holder develop, there will inevitable be some changes to the duties for which the post is responsible, and possible to the emphasis of the post itself. ACM expects that the post-holder will recognise this and will adopt a flexible approach to work. This could include undertaking relevant training where necessary. Student Surveys●            Maintain or increase student participation in student surveys across ACM

●            Manage collaborative working groups to successfully improve participation in student surveys

●            Creation of key reports for each student survey cycle with support from data team and other quality team members

External Quality Regulation●            Demonstrate ability to keep up to date with changes in policy and regulations related to student representation and governance in higher education.

●            Demonstrate ability to keep up to date with changes in policy and regulations related to academic quality and student-facing policies

●            Successful administration of ACM’s responsibilities to OfS and collaborative partners including annual Prevent reports, successful completion of any reports for OfS conditions or random sampling, and publication of annual transparency data.

●            Effective management of risk in external quality regulation by the governance structure through timely reporting and approval.
