Qualified Management Accountant (Part Time)

ACM is a specialist music education provider with approximately 2,200 students on a range of FE and HE programmes in Music Performance, Creative Artist, Production, Technical Services and Business. This is a part time role working 3-4 days per week. The full time equivalent pay rate would be £45,000 per annum to £50,000 per annum, equating to an hourly rate of £21.63 per hour to £24.03 per hour, depending on experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production of monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary
  • Analysis of costs and revenue
  • Support the forecasting / budget process
  • Develop management reports to meet evolving requirements of the Group 
  • Support business process improvements 
  • Prepare / review quarterly VAT returns
  • Involvement in production of year end audit files and liaison with the auditors
  • Support the preparation of the year end statutory accounts
  • Ad hoc projects
  • To be a pro-active and integral part of the Finance team, supporting the Head of Finance

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications

Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.

Essential Skills

Ability to produce accurate work even when presented with challenging and competing deadlines.

Ability to compile and present financial information clearly and concisely.

Effective planning, organisational, time management and administrative skills.

Excellent excel skills.

Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.

Experience of developing budget / forecasting models.

Desirable Skills

Consolidation accounting and group accounts.

Essential Experience

Preparation of management accounts with commentary.

Experience working with non-finance managers on budgets / forecasts.

Preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with auditors.

Desirable Experience

Experience of working with Sage

Developing new finance and business processes.

Essential Personal Attributes

Excellent organisation and time management skills.

Ability to work in an agile manner.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
