Project Administrator – ACM Guildford

Job title: Project Administrator

Reports to: Education Strategist


The Project Administrator’s primary duties will be to provide administrative and communications support for a number of key strategic projects within the institution as directed by the Education Executive. These include projects associated with our application for Degree Award Powers, and Access and Participation. Additionally, the role will require maintaining regular contact with various departmental staff and working groups to ensure engagement, as well as liaising with various stakeholders, and providing reports on progress. The role will provide an excellent opportunity to gain a broad and comprehensive understanding of education environments. The post is ideal for a someone already working within a higher education environment in an administrative role, with an interest in strategic projects and planning.

The Academy of Contemporary of Music (ACM) is an education provider based in Surrey, with campuses in Guildford, London and Birmingham. With over 2000 students, primarily on full-time higher education degree courses, our provision has been recognised for its innovative industry led programmes, specialist support for student welfare, and its widening participation agenda.


  • Provide support on the delivery of milestones for the projects ensuring progress reports are completed on time, and where applicable on budget.
  • Attend project review meetings, management meetings for projects, taking actions as appropriate.
  • Organise working groups activity and meetings, liaising with attendees, and ensuring appropriate resources.
  • Prepare reports for project groups, and progress reports for executive team.
  • Planning the use of the group’s resources (staff and equipment) on projects to ensure there is adequate availability to deliver projects on time, and were applicable on budget.
  • Be an active part of the strategy and planning team. Disseminating best practice and keeping up to date with new developments.
  • Updating and managing project specific digital resources including websites and databases.


An undergraduate qualification or relevant professional experience.X

This job purpose reflects the core activities of the post. As the Department and the post-holder develop, there will inevitable be some changes to the duties for which the post is responsible, and possible to the emphasis of the post itself. ACM expects that the post-holder will recognise this and will adopt a flexible approach to work. This could include undertaking relevant training where necessary. Should significant changed to the job purpose become necessary, the post-holder will be consulted and the changes reflected in a revised job purpose.
