The Role:

The ACM Games Academy is currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate game design/generalist tutor with a significant background in games development to join our team for the BA (Hons) Games Development and Futures programme, which focuses on multidisciplinary collaboration, mirroring industry-standard working practices. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a dynamic range of game development teaching materials, and actively participating in curriculum development and enhancement, building industry links, and supporting extracurricular activities such as game jams.

Joining the team at ACM Games Academy during this period of expansion across London, Guildford, and Birmingham presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our ambitious and growing programme.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a strong background in working with leading game engines, particularly Unity or Unreal Engine.

Proficiency in-game scripting is essential. Applicants should be well-versed in languages like C# and C++ or have substantial experience in utilising visual scripting systems like blueprints.

Experience in working with or educating others on Agile methodologies.

Strong commitment to excellence in teaching, with a focus on student-centred approaches.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse, multicultural student body.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills for liaising with various stakeholders.

Active participation in departmental and institutional administration.

Dedication to continual professional development in both teaching and subject area expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging lessons for students across Levels 4, 5, and 6.

Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring high standards of progression and retention.

Maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning experiences.

Participate in assessment processes.

Collaborate with Admissions for student recruitment, selection, and induction.

Develop teaching materials and methods and revise current courses as necessary.

Engage in research, applying insights to teaching and external activities.

Build external networks to support student recruitment.

Contribute to departmental and institutional committees.

Enhance lesson quality through engagement with academic quality assurance procedures.
