Working relationship with the Director responsible for Student Recruitment

ROLE PURPOSE:
Based at ACM Guildford, and travelling to other ACM campuses as needed, the Applicant
Advisor Manager will be responsible for the activities and efficacy of ACM’s Applicant Advisor
Team.  They will work with the Director responsible for student recruitment and the Head of
Records to ensure that the organisation’s commercial objectives are met, whilst maintaining
compliance with ACM’s relevant Admissions policies and procedures for application
assessment and offers of study.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To manage the Applicant Advisor Team; including holding regular meetings with
    the team reporting on activity and efficacy.
  • To oversee and report on the effective handling of email, phone, chat and other
    communications channels; ensuring an accurate and timely response is
    provided to prospective students
  • To work with a wide spectrum of stakeholders including Pathway Leaders, the
    Head of Records and the Director responsible for Student Recruitment to
    develop a detailed understanding of the courses that ACM delivers across its
    campuses at various study levels.
  • To translate the understanding of content, course construct, delivery
    methodology, entry requirements and other features of note into documentation
    to aid the communication and promotion of our products by staff and teams
    across the company.
  • To train Applicant Advisors in enacting ACM’s Admissions-related policies and
    procedures. This includes areas of UCAS, DSA, EHCPs and Criminal Records
  • To train Applicant Advisors in having effective communications with prospective
    students that are conducive to conversion
  • To lead the Applicant Advisor Team in maintaining regular contact with
    prospective students through the various stages of the prospect chain.
  • To work with the Director responsible for Student Recruitment and the various
    campus-based events leads to schedule and deliver Open Day/Audition events
    and other such activities that support the student acquisition process, including
    those led by the Applicant Advisor Team such as Campus Tours and Access All
    Area visits.
  • To ensure that the Applicant Advisor team is well informed and compliant with
    sector legislation including that from CMA.
  • To work with a variety of stakeholders including ACM’s Outreach Forum to identify and maximise new leads, referral and conversion opportunities.
  • To contribute to the achievement of student recruitment targets.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential

  • Team Management experience in a similar industry
  • Experience in leading in a customer service setting
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain new information related to the Admissions
    entry requirements
  • Ability to manage workload and remain organised during busy spells.
  • Experience in providing accurate data reports to colleagues and senior
    management

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an Admissions setting
  • Experience of working in the HE sector
  • Experience of training others in admissions processes.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with the commitment required to work
outside regular working days on occasion as required
Salary: £31,406 – £40,927 dependent on Experience.
