Job Type: Full-time, flexible hours including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts required. Remote working possible for some hours with Manager approval.
ACM is a specialist creative industries education provider with approximately 1,500 students on a range of FE, HE and Masters programmes in Music Performance, Creative Artistry, Production, Technical Services, Business Management and Game Development. Role Purpose:
As a key member of the Admissions team, the Admissions Officer will play a vital role in managing the enquiry process for prospective students and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to enquiries, nurturing prospective students through their application journey, and providing detailed information on ACM’s diverse range of courses across its campuses in Guildford, London, and Metropolis Studios.
The role requires developing an in-depth understanding of ACM’s offerings, which include degree courses, industry qualifications, and part-time programmes. A passion for the music and live entertainment industry is essential, as the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding students towards the right course to help them achieve their career ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and accurately to incoming enquiries via email, phone, chat, and other digital platforms.
- Maintain consistent communication with prospective students throughout the application process, providing personalised advice and support.
- Build knowledge on tasks that adapt to different times of the academic cycle. Communicate confidently with students on the academic cycle.
- Ensure both Direct and UCAS Application are managed in the first instance, contacted and progressed to support them through the application process.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on ACM’s courses, including degree programmes, part-time studies, and industry qualifications.
- Use ACM’s CRM system to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospective student interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues across campuses to ensure a seamless and positive admissions experience.
- Accommodate the needs of international students and operate across different time zones when necessary for online learning and support.
Working Hours and Flexibility:
- Standard hours are between 9am-7pm, arranged in advance with your line manager based on 8-hour shift patterns.
- Weekend work will be required at least once a month to cover Auditions and Open Days. This can be compensated as overtime or time off in lieu on a weekday.
- Additional Hours will be required at certain times of year for which suitable notice will be provided as directed by the department manager. This more commonly falls over: August, September, October and January and cannot unreasonably be denied.
Holiday Policy:
- Annual leave is not permitted from August 1st to October 1st, without extenuating circumstances, due to the busy admissions period.
- October holiday may be limited and subject to availability.
Requirements:
- A passion for the music and live entertainment industry, with the ability to share knowledge and enthusiasm with prospective students.
- Excellent communication skills and a personable, engaging approach to working with students and their families.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to use initiative to draw insights from Student Trends and feedback on processes over the academic cycle.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and willingness to travel to different campuses.
- Ability to work independently from home when necessary, with a reliable internet connection.
Desirable:
- 3+ years of experience in admissions.
- Experience with data record management and registry functions for higher education institutions.
- Experience with CRM systems or similar platforms.

This job purpose reflects the core activities of the post.
