Each year ACM runs a live feedback session called the Industry Performance Showcase (IPS), where ACM students are invited to perform in front of a hand picked panel of music industry representatives.

The termly session, hosted by ACM’s Industry Link team at Guildford’s live music venue The Boileroom, is a unique opportunity for students to receive direct and independent feedback on a variety of aspects including:

  • Songwriting Skills
  • Stage Presence
  • Marketing

Joining ACM’s Industry Link Team this term were Alex Donnelly (A&R Relentless and former Head of Music & Live Music at Radio 1), Darrin Woodford (MD of Distiller Records), Marc Fox (A&R) and Celia McCamley (Managing Director of Gary Barlow’s label Future Records), who fed back to a range of ACM singer/songwriters and bands including Nicole Gill, Chris Read, Bare Jams, Ella Barber, Everlyn Blacklock, Sam Dawson, Zac Smith, The Badland Roots, Dance a la Plage, Dye the Flux, Massmatiks and Madd Elizabeth.

Student artists were asked to perform two original songs, bring along any marketing collateral / supporting material and also prepare key questions to put to the panelists in order to better develop their performance, promotional and future music career prospects.

Darrin Woodford MD of Distiller Records

“It was obvious that all the bands and artists on show had a very high level of technical ability and confident stagecraft. Thanks also to the seamless efficiency of the crew who attended to all the varied needs of 12 bands/artists.”
