ACM were pleased to welcome back world renowned guitarist Guthrie Govan, who delivered a guitar guest lecture session on Friday 20th September. The session took place in ACM’s Global House Building in Room 39 from 3.30pm.

Guthrie last visited ACM in March 2012, where he dazzled ACM students with his guitar skills and gave students the opportunity to ask questions and find out how they could improve their technique and skills. No doubt this years students will see and experience more of the same!

More about Guthrie Govan
Guthrie Govan is arguably the most exciting and significant new guitarist to emerge in the virtuosic rock/fusion guitar scene in many years and has toured with some of the world’s leading recording artists including more recently Dizee Rascal.

A brilliant virtuoso who is at home in a variety of musical genres and styles, Guthrie combines astonishing technique with vast theoretical knowledge, down-to-earth feel, sophisticated harmonic vocabulary, superb improvisation abilities with a penchant for memorable melodies, and woody organic tone.

Whether it’s mainstream shred rock a la G3 or fusion jazz or chicken-picking country or groove-driven funk or down- home blues or whatever other style you could think of, Guthrie does ‘em all and does so extremely well.

Tickets are strictly limited and available from ACM Reception from Monday 16th September 2013.
