ACM Freshers week went off (like a rocket, yeah)! 6 gigs in one week with over 700 Freshers enjoying up and coming bands from ACM and beyond.

The ACM Livelink Launch was the biggest party of the week with 3 simultaneous gigs happening across Guildford at local venues including…

  • @ The Boileroom
Freshers were treated to block-rocking sets from Free Peace (pictured left), Brother and Bones, Finding Sound and Chris Cape. Fresh.
  • @ The Star
Felix Fables, Dede Davi, Van Dave and Jazz Morley enticed this years students with their unique blend of folky-acoustic stylings and flava’s. Smooth.
  • @ Backline
Kicking on into the night were Films of Colour, Arcady Bliss, Charming Thieves plus DJ sets from DJ Jon1st and Dekko. Brap!
  • Jam Night was also a huge sell-out success; watching new students jamming with the house band Free Peace was awesome-cool. Tutor Night also went down a storm, with ACM legends playing their hearts out for the new crowd.

The Boileroom hosted an awesome dubstep night with ACM Battle of the Bands winners Coda (pictured top) and Notting Hill Carnival’s biggest players Channel One Soundsystem. Overall an excellent start to what is going to be an exciting year.

“ACM Fresher’s Week was a great chance to introduce all that the area has to offer to new and returning students. As the hub of Guildford’s live music scene, The Boileroom has been packed every night with a whole variety of events.”
