It’s Festival Season!

Is there anything better than live music? No. Is there anything more fun than music festivals? Hardly! Then it’s no surprise that UK music attractions generated an estimated £3.7 billion of spend in 2015, with over 10.4 million people journeying to musical events.

In 2018, ACM’s Industry Link team (headed up by Skunk Anansie founder and guitarist, Ace) has strengthened our festival provision giving students the opportunity to perform, organise backline and deliver stage management at some of the UK’s biggest music festivals.

At ACM, we pride ourselves on providing an immersive educational offering for all of our students. With our extensive links into the music industry, ACM students are gaining first-hand experience of the business at the same time as studying their chosen course.

Hyfest originally started as a way to support and raise funds for Headley Youth Football Club. Over the last five years it has grown to be a popular community fixture, with an eclectic choice of music on the main stage and acoustic stage.

Each year Hyfest are trying to encourage more stalls, markets and activities for all the family to attend the event and help build this as not only a great fund raiser for Headley Youth Football Club but also a great community event raising funds for lots of other local schools, clubs and associations as well. Since 2015, ACM have provided front of house support, backline, stage management and quite a few of the fantastic bands on the main stage.

This year business student Cara Moulton will be co-ordinating the Acoustic stage at Hyfest, putting on ACM acts such as;

  • Emelia Quinn
  • Harry Mocket
  • Dean MacCaw
  • Sleepy Folk
  • Andy Ruddy
