Music, singing and songwriting have always been the passion of ACM Vocal Alumna (2013) Elena Ramona who spent much of her childhood growing up on the Greek island of Skiathos, with her English mother, Greek father and brother.
Throughout school she enjoyed taking part in musical productions and now at 24, Elena is based in Guildford, Surrey and pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter.
Tell us about what you’ve been up to since graduating from ACM
Since graduating from ACM in 2013, I have stayed in Guildford working part time in order to support myself and my career path in music. My tutors gave me a host of useful performance, vocal and marketing techniques that have helped me to continue my growth as a musician and secure more exposure.
Tell us a bit more about your current project
Recently my music partner and ACM Alumnus, Martyn Corbet and I have been working together to create my debut EP Hold On which was released earlier this year. The EP features three original songs with their lyrics reflecting feelings and life. My debut single Rise was inspired by the love and support given to me by my family.
Tell us about your future plans and career aspirations
My aim is to be working full time in music both as a songwriter and as a performing artist.
The internet has been an incredibly useful tool in generating exposure for my music and also networking with other musicians – getting out there and performing at live shows is just as important.
Why you chose to study at ACM and the best parts of studying here?
I chose the ACM specifically because it offered me the opportunity to better my craft in a comfortable and happy atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend ACM.
ACM would like to thank Alumna Elena Ramona for getting back in touch and wish her the best of luck with her new release Hold On. For more information about Elena Ramona follow her on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
