Owner of The Academy of Contemporary Music Kainne Clements talks to Eagle Radio about his plans to keep the Electric Theatre in the community.
“This is all about a platform for community engagement.
“So it’s not the case that we intend to shut up shop and not host any productions, it’s the reverse.
“I’ve said to anybody that wants to come and talk to us on the basis that we can work together, I would be really happy to do that.
“The bare bones of it is for it to continue to be the iconic space it is, but relieve the burden on the community of financing it, it’s going to have to be run by someone who knows how to run it.
“In my case, I’m running a not-for-profit organisation which is 20 metres away.”
