Drum Legend Billy Cobham Visits ACM

It’s not often you can say you’ve been in the presence of a true musical legend, but ACM students and tutors alike witnessed the very reasons why drummer Billy Cobham is one of the most influential musicians of all time.

In a packed out lecture room, over 120 ACM students sat in trepidation as Billy took to the stage to wow students with his musicianship, wisdom and anecdotes from a career that spans over 4 decades.

Billy was joined onstage by ACM’s Director of Education, Nik Preston on bass and ACM tutors Brian Henry on keys and Carl Orr guitar to play four tracks LIVE to the gathered students.

“It’s unlikely that there is a member of our faculty that has not been profoundly influenced by Billy Cobham in one way or another and today he showed everyone that his unflinching dedication, utter professionalism and generous spirit are fundamental to his status amongst the greats of contemporary music. A real inspiration to all of us.”
Nik Preston ACM Director of Education

ACM would like to thank Billy Cobham for dropping by and delivering a scintillating masterclass for our students. We wish him the very best for his upcoming live commitments and projects and hope to see him again in the very near future.
