Thanks to a growing reputation for putting on savage live shows and their impeccable musicianship, Doomed From Day One have been building their momentum within the UK metal scene.

The five-piece band made up of four ACM graduates – Sean Scott, Charlie Griffiths, Daniel Ristic (Performance Degree), Charlie Frederick (Performance Diploma) and Eifion Sweet – have sought to create their own hybrid sound merging the key elements of Prog, Tech and Death Metal together.

Since the release of their debut EP, The Wasted World, DFDO have been involved in an intense touring schedule that has seen them perform to packed out venues across UK and Europe sharing stages with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Sylosis, Bleed From Within and Thy Art Is Murder

Who have you been working with?
We’ve been working with Jamie Otsa at Wall Of Sound PR for the release of our latest single Dread. Jamie managed to grab us interest for the premier of our new video from Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, Rock Sound, Impericon, amongst others. Impericon was the choice for us because of their current status and big festivals happening this year. Paul from Impericon expressed a lot of interest in premiering the video for us as well which helped form our decision.

We’ve just come off a UK tour with a band called From Sorrow To Serenity and we’ll be heading out on our own to Europe for a weekend tour visiting Leige, Wilrijk and Hoore from 7th March.

Tell us about the band’s ambitions/plans for 2014?
After that weekend we have plans to start coming together and writing our debut album, with another video and single release in the run up to the album release. In May we head out on a few dates with Carcer City in the UK and then for a 9 day European tour with them. One of the dates of the UK tour is Fury Fest in Liverpool.

After the touring in May we’ll be getting back together and concentrating all of our focus on writing our album. We have plans for some festivals in the summer and will be playing the London date of the Tech-Fest all dayers on the 8th June. So we’ll be keeping very busy!
