To raise money to help with reconstruction and relief for the recent tornado which hit Oklahoma City (a city close to our hearts with our partner institution ACM@UCO operating in the city centre), ACM have been finding various ways to drum up some extra funds.
Our fundraiser event at Guildford’s Star Inn was a huge success with thanks to the staff of the Star as well as our student bands who played there, the tickets we had kindly donated by Cato Music to go to see Muse at London’s Emirates Stadium raised a considerable amount from the donations our students and alumni offered us for them, and now we’ve decided to sell off some of the autographed musical memorabilia we’ve collected over the years to see if we can raise a bit more.
So, we’ve recently auctioned four very special items on eBay including:
- Zildjian 22″ Ride Cymbal signed by Queen Drummer Roger Taylor
- RODE NT1-A Microphone signed by singer / songwriter Daniel Beddingfield
- Fender Squier Stratocaster Guitar Signed by renowned guitarist Greg Koch
- Sabian 20″ Crash Signed by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Feeder / Skunk Anansie drummer Mark Richardson and Style Council / Paul Weller drummer Steve White
All funds raised with be donated to the American Red Cross, to benefit the Oklahoma Relief Fund.
Thanks to everyone who has helped us raise funds or been involved in the planning and participation in all our events.
