Location, Services and Transport

College Buildings:

ACM Metropolis is located within Metropolis Studios with it’s own entrance and set back from the main road. The college can be accessed through the first large wooden doors on the right hand side as you walk on down the pathway to Metropolis Studios main reception. There, staff can visibly see visitors, students and faculty enter the building for security measures.

Trains/Tube/Buses:

ACM Metropolis is easy to reach from all locations. The two London tube stations which are at equal distance (5-10 mins walk) to the campus, are Stamford Brook (Westbound) and Turnham Green (Eastbound) – both are on the District Line.

The nearest mainline train station is Richmond which goes through Clapham Junction. From Richmond train station, simply head to the Underground and onto the District Line heading Westbound towards Turnham Green / Chiswick.

The campus is conveniently by a bus station that has a great range of buses running through Chiswick / Richmond into and out of the City.

The best way for getting around the city and mapping out a route, is by using Citymapper app: https://citymapper.com/london

Traffic:

ACM Metropolis is located just off of Chiswick High Road which is an extremely busy road full of motorcyclists, cars, cyclists and pedestrians coming from all directions. Be careful when crossed roads as there are many traffic lights which confuse drivers so please be aware. If you are driving down Chiswick High Road, be wary when turning left / right as the roads are small, it can be difficult to see cyclists.

Services and Shops:

ACM Metropolis is conveniently located within the buzzing community of Chiswick; cafes, restaurants, bookshops, convenience shops, chemists, doctors, dentists etc are on the college’s doorstep. The college is also a short 10 minute walk to Ravenscourt Park and Turnham Green Park which offer sporting events / classes, make for a fantastic break from lectures and able to sit and relax in during the summer months. Here is a great website about Chiswick: http://www.chiswickw4.com/

For high-street shopping, the college is a 10 minute bus ride to King’s Street, Hammersmith where students can find a variety of charming pubs, cafes, shops such as H&M, T.K.Maxx, Boots, Superdrug, Primark and many charity shops. The bus stops are located directly opposite and in front of the college: http://www.kings-mall.co.uk/

Vehicle Entrances:

There is a drop off point located down the driveway (off of Chiswick High Road) but no short or long term parking.

Parking:

There is no parking on the college campus / at Metropolis Studios (only for studio clients) but there is street parking available down the residential side roads off of Chiswick High Road. Here is a useful guide to ‘Driveway’ parking which has become a handy site for those seeking all day parking for a reasonable price: Just Park

General Information

Medical Facilities:

ACM has First Aiders on site. The nearest hospital (A&E and Walk-In-Clinic) is Charing Cross Hospital which is 1.8 miles away from the college campus. The hospital is also one bus ride away (on the 190) which leaves from the bus stop right on the main road, just outside the campus.

Emergency Procedures:

Fire alarms are tested regularly. The meeting points is clearly marked outside of the building in yellow boxes. In the event of a student having a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan, Fire Wardens will have been advised of the necessary procedures – all nearest emergency and fire exits are mapped out and visible from all areas of ACM Metropolis.
