Hailing from Portsmouth, Ben Kennedy came to ACM to study Higher Diploma Drums, but ended up staying to complete a two year accelerated drum Degree before beginning a career as a session musician, which has seen him working and touring with a variety of singer/songwriters and groups including Ladyhawke, Claire Maguire, Girls Aloud, Adam Lambert – Runner Up in American Idol Season 8 – and Shane Ward.

Following the success of Ladyhawke’s self titled debut album and tour, Ben now finds himself hitting the road again with the new album Anxiety, which will see him visit a host of venues across the globe. However, Ben is keen to credit his success to a number of sources including a fellow ACM Alumni who invited Ben to audition for the vacant Ladyhawke drum spot.

Speaking about ACM, Ben credits the ACM faculty – notably drum tutors Jon Duff and Pete Riley – who were an inspiration throughout his three years of study, the facilities and the vibe that he first sensed when he visited ACM for an Open Day.

“If I didn’t come here (ACM) I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today – it’s as simple as that.”
