Artisound music library offers composers a better deal.
Monday 1st August sees the online launch of a slick new royalty free music library, Artisound.io, designed to help composers sell their music to the international video and filmmaking market.
Prominent among Artisound’s selling points is the writer’s share of the licence fee: 50% as opposed to the more common 30%.
“We believe in rewarding artists properly for their work. We look after the interests of our composers and take care of the business side of things for them. We also licence all our music on a non-exclusive basis, so artists are free to sell their music on the same non-exclusive basis elsewhere.”
Yannick Ireland, Artisound Founder
Artisound offers filmmakers a well-designed and simple online interface for all devices, with a number of unique features aimed at reducing the time they have to spend trawling through tracks. Foremost among these is a ‘Send Me Music’ feature, whereby the user enters a brief for the sort of music they are looking for and Artisound does the research, responding with an emailed shortlist of suitable tracks.
All the music on Artisound is hand-picked to ensure a high standard of composition and production, and every track is available to download in high quality .wav format, as well as .mp3. The library covers a wide range of genres suitable for all media.
Artisound is the creation of 27-year-old Yannick Ireland, a BA Hons (1st class) graduate in Electronic Music from the renowned Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford, Surrey. Ireland is a musician and composer himself, who was inspired to launch Artisound by a desire to have his own music brand selling high quality compositions.
“Having sold a couple of pieces myself, I wanted to launch a platform selling music that I deemed to be truly good and appropriate for synchronisation. Every track that makes it into the Artisound library is vetted and hand-picked for quality, to save customers having to sift through hours of inferior recordings, as they do with other libraries.”
