ACM Bass graduate Ted Dwane, of English folk-rock band Mumford & Sons, collected a Brit Award on 15th February when the band’s debut album ‘Sigh No More’ (Island Records) was awarded Mastercard Best British Album Of The Year.
The band was nominated for 3 Brit Awards in total and performed live on the night. The news follows a critically acclaimed live performance at the US Grammys in early February, where the band earned two Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rock Song.
“ACM is extremely proud of Ted and the Mumford boys’ achievements this year. This Brit Award represents all their hard work.”
Mumford & Sons join previous ACM Brit Award nominees, such as Newton Faulkner nominated for Best Male Solo Artist in 2008, Amelle Berrabah of Sugababes nominated for Best British Single in 2006, and Camilla Kerslake nominated for Album of the Year in 2010 at the Classical Brit Awards.
